David Hopwood Obituary
Dave was born Aug. 30, 1940, in Whittier, California, to parents Russell and Anna Hopwood. He is survived by his wife, Gwen Hopwood; son Jeff, and his wife, Sue Hopwood; stepchildren Ben and Gary Dorsett, Rob, and Christi and Paul Dosher; brother Jon Hopwood, and his wife, Kathy;, and brother Dan's wife, Pamela Hopwood; and nine grandchildren, Stephanie Harrington, Kirstie Ringer, Amber Spicer, Erica Wise, Brenda Clark, Ashley Dorsett, Tyler Dorsett, Brandon Dorsett and Bennie Dorsett. He was preceded in death by former spouses Dee Holt and Betty Hopwood, brother Daniel Hopwood, and his daughter, Jennifer Spicer.
Dave was a tool and die maker and owned and operated Hopwood Tool & Die. He had resided in Twain Harte since 1971.
He had a passion for fishing and photography. He often entered his pictures into the Mother Lode Fair and was awarded several blue ribbons. Most of all, his family and friends were at the top of his list.
We hope you will join us in a celebration of Dave's life that will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 23, followed by a Mexican buffet at Calvary Chapel, 19889 Soulsbyville Road, Soulsbyville, CA 95372.

Dear family of Dave, I am so sorry for your loss, having recently moved to Idaho I've just learned of Dave's passing. I've known Dave since high school days, we met at First Brethern church in Whittier Ca and were in the youth group as well as the Youth for Christ car club the "Boltin Bishops". There's not space enough nor time enough to tell of all the good times Dave and I shared over the years, it will just have to suffice to say Dave was a true friend to anyone he called friend and they were many. The battle won, the race complete Dave now sits at his Saviors feet.
I was blessed to know him and more blessed by the memories,
God bless and comfort each of you, his family and my friends.

There aren't words to say how unique and warm it was to be a friend of Dave Hopwood. I remember his wonderful laugh he would almost explode with! His smile was one of the most wonderful smiles in the whole world. His eyes...the way they would look at you as a friend....just warm and unique. You probably knew him, and know just what we are talking about.
And when we sat around the dinner table and talked constantly about how wonderful Jesus is....often tears...would start rolling down Dave's cheeks. Now Dave gets to look at the Lord all the time.
What a wonderful place for Dave to be at right now....waiting for us to join him!
