DAVID WARNE Obituary

In loving memory -
David Devore "Dave" Warne, 90, passed away peacefully at home on May 24, 2024, after a long illness of melanoma cancer for 20 years. Dave was born in Oakdale, California, on Jan. 1, 1934, to George and Edna Warne.
He lived his whole life in Tuolumne County. After graduating from Sonora High School, Dave entered the military, serving on the Navy boat 955 Division in the Korean Way as a Coxswain engineer man. He served active duty for four years, from 1952 to 1956.
After serving, he then found the love of his life, Ruby, and they married in 1955. He then joined the Carpenter's Union, retiring after 36 years. David and Ruby would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 1.
David was blessed with three children, David Warne, Brenda Devries and Billy Warne. Dave will be missed dearly, also leaving behind six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
David would lead us in many adventures, such as yearly family abalone-diving trips, deep sea and freshwater fishing trips, boating, waterskiing, fifth-wheel camping and, in his younger years, backpacking to some of the most beautiful places in the Sierra Nevada. Catching golden trout was a highlight for him. David and Ruby piloted their own plane, bringing flying in range for family and friends to events.
David volunteered for TCAA Search and Rescue for lost hikers in the Sierra Nevada, having found a person no one else could, bringing him home to safety. David also built amazing gardens, built his own home and was an amazing man. It's endless to all he accomplished in his life. He loved dancing, clamming and crabbing. Ruby and Dave managed to win the Boots Award of Hollywood Celebrities, making many good friends.
God bless you David. Rest in peace.
David is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Warne; three children, David Zepherine Warne, Brenda Lee DeVries and William DeVore Warne; six grandchildren, David Ryan Warne, Brittney Lawson Warne, Kenneth James Klaverweiden, Joshua William Klaverweiden, Kimberly May Klaverweiden-Blankenship, and Nichole Godula; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Tuolumne County Sheriff Posse clubhouse, 19130 Rawhide Road, Jamestown.
If you wish to send condolences to the family, please mail to Ruby Warne, 21472 Hunts Road, Sonora, CA 95370.

Dave Z. Warne, all my love and sincere condolences to you and your family. You are always in my thoughts. My Mama, Claudette, passed two years ago and was speaking of her meeting you and how she wished you could have been her son in law up to the week before she died. So do I. God bless you.
