I just learned of Victors passing today when trying to make an appointment. So sad to hear of his passing. My eye apt was the only time I ever looked forward to going to the doctor. My doctor for 30 years. Sure will miss him and his lovely wife Karen. God bless and comfort you all.

We were so sorry to hear that Dr. Child died. We have gone to him for 20 years. He always had a kind word and a story to tell and he never failed to ask about family. He took his time with each patient, we never felt rushed. What a true gem he was and what a loss for our community. Our hearts go out to Karen, his family and staff.

Dr. Child was such a kind man. He was so caring with his patients. He always was interested in what was going on in your life.
I remember asking him when he was going to retire. He said he knew people who retired early and they just seemed not very happy . You could tell he loved what he did. He will surely be missed by all who knew him. My condolences go out to his family.

Picture this. Mel and I ( Page) were going with Vic to Tahoe in a small airplane at Columbia which both Vic and Mel were licensed to fly. Vic started the plane. He got out for some reason. The plane headed on down the runway without him. Mel jumped into the pilot´s seat to turn it and bring it back. Vic ran along beside it faster and faster once he realized what was going on.
All was well in the end. The day trip, the take offs and landings- and forever more- the hysterical mental picture of Vic trying to jump back into the runaway airplane.
We knew Vic and family since 1971. His outgoing personality, cowboy mannerisms, and generous heart will be greatly missed.

Dr. Victor Child was our optometrist, and I was very saddened when I read of his passing. I don't usually look forward to doctor visits, but that didn't apply to Dr. Child, he always greeted everyone with a smile, and I enjoyed his stories as well as his laugh. RIP Dr. Child, your impact on people will forever be remembered with a smile.
My deepest condolences to Mrs. Child and family,
Michelle Maddox
