JAMES OLLMANN Memoriam

James "Jim" Ollmann, 83, passed away Jan. 19 in Modesto, California.
Jim was born in Austin, Minnesota, on March 25, 1940, to Joseph and Frances Ollmann. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 18 and traveled to many places around the world as a flight engineer on P-3 Orions. He was stationed at NAS Moffett Field and retired after 20 years of service. He was proud of his time in the service and valued the lifelong friendships he made while serving.
After retiring from the Navy, Jim went to work for IBM and spent 17 years there as a HVAC technician. In 1996, after retiring from IBM, he and his wife, Margaret, moved permanently to Sonora.
During his retirement Jim honed his woodworking skills, and his cutting boards and plaques have been well-received by many. His annual deer and elk hunting trip to Colorado was another activity he looked forward to.
Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret; two daughters, Lynn (Mike) and Christine; three grandchildren, Danielle, Michael, Kyle; and one great-grandchild, Apollo.
Jim will be buried at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Feb. 27.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Jim's memory be made to the VA Northern California Healthcare System.

My sincerest condolences go out to the whole Ollmann family. Jim was such a wonderful, giving, joyful man and I was blessed to have known him. I think of him daily when I use my cutting board or the tissue paper holder he made. His light will be missed but I will think of him fondly every day.
