LARRY SIDMORE Obituary

Longtime Sonora resident Larry Sidmore passed away April 4, 2023, in Sonora. He was 81 years old. He was born March 31, 1942, in Oakland, California.
Larry was a high climber for the City of Oakland for more than 20 years. After retiring, he and Joyce bought five acres of land in Sonora, California, to build their dream home 1993. During the 30 years, Larry was on the planning commission for six years. He then ran for District 2 supervisor for the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors. He was a natural-born mechanic and loved to restore antique cars. He was a member of the Sonora A's Model A Car club, The Antique Car Club of America and The Horseless Carriage Club. Larry loved all his friends and family so much and would want them to all know how much they meant to him.
Larry is survived by his partner of 41 years, Joyce; his daughter, Lori Sidmore-Hollingsworth, of San Jose, California; son, Mark Sidmore, of Kehena, Hawaii; and daughter, Linda Sidmore McCormick, of Fresno, California; his grandchildren, Ryan Goyen, Amanda Goyen and Hailey Holman-Franz; and four great-grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Sidmore, in 1992, and his sister, Frances Fischer, in 2020.
A memorial service is to be determined.

We loved Larry so very much! He grew up in Oakland with his friend Douglas Lee . We lost track in the 1970´s & renewed our friendship in 20O4 here in Sonora. Larry was a "best friend" to so many .
