Missing You
July 14, 2024
It's been 2 years and I still don't know what to say or how to live without you. Every holiday I call you crying, missing you. You were my rock, my advisor, my uncle Todd. I will never forget the day I asked if I could call you that and how wide you smiled and how tightly you hugged me. Or going over to you when you were working at football games and introducing you to my friends. I miss or late night talks about life, sitting on the couch and binge watching American Idol or So You Think You Can Dance. I miss you every day. It's still so unreal. I look back and wish I would of treasured every moment a little bit long, hugged you even tighter, told you how much you meant to me, took more photos with you. I am always grateful that I was lucky enough to tell you I love you one last time before you left us. I wish I could tell you how right you were about college, about having a family. I wish you would just pick up the phone and tell me this was all a cruel joke. I love you and miss you more than you'll ever know.

I knew Todd from his longtime friendship with son, Jason. They, along with their friends, were quite a team.
Whenever I ran into Todd, he was always pleasant and thoughtful. I felt he had a talent for communicating, whether a few insightful words or a gesture. My strongest memory of Todd was at Eric Keeslar's funeral, at his burial site. I was with daughter Shauna, walking to the top of a hill. She was behind me, with friends, so I continued my slow journey upward--alone. Todd, already far ahead, walked back to me and gave me his arm. His kindness was much appreciated -- and timely:-) . We shared memories and a couple one-liners relating to the joys and trials in life. He made me smile through grief. My heart aches at Todd's passing, especially for his dear family and close friends. For Jason, he hurts at the loss of his good buddy he missed seeing since high school, and will hold on to the special memories they all created together.
