WAKEFIELD -- Agnes Josephine Glidden, 96, of East Wakefield, died Dec. 28, 2008, at the Mountain View Nursing Home in Ossipee, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Moultonborough on April 22, 1912, to Thomas and Lily (Knowles) Davis. She was raised in Moultonborough and graduated from the Brewster Academy.
Mrs. Glidden was a homemaker who had a keen interest in bird watching. She loved to read and loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her beloved grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Norman Glidden, formerly of Plymouth and East Wakefield; and by two children, Mary Ann and Thomas Glidden.
Family includes daughters Ella Morris of Wayne, N.J., and Dorothy Clow, of Winthrop, Maine; sons Norman Glidden of Rangeley, Maine, Robert Glidden of East Wakefield, and John Glidden of Scarborough, Maine; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
SERVICES: A memorial service is Friday at 11 a.m. at Mayhew Funeral Home, 12 Langdon St., Plymouth. The Rev. Edward J. Charest will officiate.
Memorial donations may be made to Lakes Region Humane Society, 11 Old Route 28, Ossipee 03864 or to Mountain View Nursing Home, 10 County Farm Road, Ossipee 03864.
