Alice M. Gilchrist

Northwood, NH: Alice M Gilchrist, 92, died on May 29, 2023 at. Concord Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on April 26, 1931 in Somerville, MA, the daughter of Lawrence F and Concetta (Bernardinelli) Jillette Sr.

Alice grew up in Saugus, Ma, she graduated from Saugus HS class of 1948. She attended BU and graduate from Salem State College with a Bachelor's degree in education. She taught 1st Grade at Harrington School, Lynn, Ma. She got her Pilots license at Hanscom Field, MA. She was an avid reader, loved to sew and embroider. She was a member of Victory Chapter #157 OES, Salem, MA and Crescent Chapter #45 OES, Northwood, NH. Alice was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Richard S Gilchrist Jr.. She is survived by her daughters Vail A. Hauke, her husband Wolfgang, Judith C Anthony and her husband Steven, her grandchildren, Mark and Brian Gilchrist, Hannelore Hauke, Laura Frankart, 14 Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Richard S Gilchrist III, sister, Jill Kahn, and Brother, Lawrence F Jillette Jr. Friends and Family may call from 5:00 -7:00pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Rd (Rt. 4), Barrington, NH. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 on Friday, June 2, 2023 at The Third Baptist Church, 53 Strafford Rd (Rt. 202) Strafford, NH with Pastor Harold Muzzey, officiating.
