Anna Kwapniewski Obituary

Anna Mae Kwapniewski, 89, of Londonderry, NH, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in her home with family by her side. She was born in El Dorado, KS on February 16, 1933, a daughter of Oscar and Floella (Mueller) Lockard.

Anna Mae was raised in the Midwest and was often seen riding her John Deere tractor, tending her gardens, cultivating her mulch pile, and sharing her ideas and knowledge on home and garden maintenance with the neighbors. She proudly served stateside during the Korean War in the United States Air Force as one of their first female aircraft radio/radar mechanics. She always felt the experience she gained serving her country was more valuable than four years of college.

Anna Mae's talent for sketching and painting with watercolors was evident at an early age and she continued her creativity through sewing and other crafts.

She is survived by two daughters, Pauline Woodbury and husband Bob, and Patricia Kwapniewski; one grandchild; two brothers, Kenneth Lockard of Ok and Allen Lockard of IN as well as several nieces and nephews. Anna Mae is predeceased by her husband, Frank Kwapniewski in 2020, her son, Peter Kwapniewski in 2019 and her daughter, Teresa Kwapniewski-Clark in 2015.

Following cremation, a chapel service will be held in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH 03303 on a date to be determined. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
