Our sincere sympathies to the Marineau family. I had the distinct pleasure of sharing the same hour with Ben in the Adoration Chapel for several years. We also attended Behold the Man weekly presentations for years at Ste. Marie. Ben was a wonderful man of God who prayed for people in need on a daily basis, served the needy in a variety of ministries, used his talented woodworking skills for others, etc, etc. He was a humble and giving man who we respected and admired.
Rest In Peace Ben.

I met Ben and Annette in the early 1980s when I joined the Pius X Secular Institute. I have always been very impressed by both of them. The generous giving of themselves is an inspiration to me and so many. Throughout the years, I would stop by every time I was in Manchester to be able to see them and especially listen to the many stories they would share. They were instrumental especially when I was finishing up my master's degree in theology as I was analyzing letters from the founding years of the Pius X Secular Institute. Sometimes we would take time to celebrate Mass, catch up on the news of family and friends, and sometimes Ben would even share a drink...
Ben was a generous and humble soul. Sometimes he would come up from the basement workshop, stopping whatever project he was doing to take time together. He would in a simple way open his heart, share his struggles and discoveries, recommend a book he was reading, and many times just be in admiration of God's presence in his life. He will surely find a place reserved for him at the eternal Banquet table... May the Lord he has served so faithfully and generously give him peace and comfort and to Annette and her family consolation and trust. No doubt Ben will continue to watch over all of us as we journey to the Father's house!
These past few days at Maison Sarto in Quebec, we have united in prayer giving thanks to God for Ben's long life. With the border still closed, I will not be able to travel to Manchester to participate in the funeral, but rest assured that I will be in deep communion with you as we commend our dear Ben to God's loving mercy.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My sincere condolences to the Marineau family on the loss of Ben! He was a wonderful man always willing to help someone in need, or lend a hand. I've had the privilege of knowing Ben and his family since I was 4 years old and my family moved across the street from the Marineau's and through the years were always able to stay in tough until recently, so I have many fond memories. My dad Leo and Ben worked at Hermsdorf together for many years as cabinet makers until their retirement, and they spent many a times sharing their craft with each other in the basement of Ben's workshop in the basement! He will certainly be missed by all. My thoughts and prayers go out to Annette and his family during this difficult time!
