I glad the pleasure of working for Don from my hire date in 2004 to his retirement from office. He was a kind man with many stories of his life adventures. Such a proud father and grandfather. It is with pride that I served him. His humbleness is something I wish I could replicate. He will be someone that left a permanent mark on my life.

Don was a mentor and an inspiration to me in my early teaching years and personal life. He was a compassionate and kindly man who took an interest in many young peoples' lives and offered support, help, and advice- an inspiration and a "character" all rolled into one. He was always devoted to his family in every role he took on, a sad passing for all.

I had the pleasure of working with Don when he was the principal of the Pleasant Valley School in Methuen. In the past few years, he would call me to keep up-to-date with what was happening in Methuen. I so enjoyed those phone calls.

Don was one of those rare individuals among us who lived and served by the motto of Duty, Honor & Country. Auburn has lost one of its best. I know I am a better person for having the pleasure of knowing Don. Our prayers are with his family.
