GOFFSTOWN -- Charlotte Pearl Abramson, 86, died Oct. 9, 2008, at her home, surrounded by family.
She was born in Chelsea, Mass., Jan. 29, 1922, to Alexander and Ida (Lebow) Nappan. She graduated valedictorian from Chelsea High School in 1940.
Following World War II, after a courtship conducted entirely through love letters, she married William Abramson in 1945. Together, they shared 62 happy years of marriage.
IN HER LIFE: For 20 years, prior to her retirement, she was a secretary for the New Hampshire Superior Court judges and law clerks. There was a special place in her heart for the more than 100 law clerks she worked with, many of whom went on to successful careers themselves, as lawyers and judges.
Her sense of humor and warmth, which she maintained until the end, will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband, William, on Sept. 22, 2007, after which her granddaughter, Emily Eaton, assumed primary responsibility for her care for 13 months until her death.
She is survived by her family, including her son, attorney Mark Abramson, and his wife, the Honorable Gillian Abramson, of Bedford; daughter Gail Wild and her companion, Frank Wiggins, of Newport; grandchildren, Emily Eaton of Goffstown, and Nicholas Abramson of Boston; great-grandson, Brady Eaton, of Goffstown; and grandson-in-law, Jay Eaton, of Goffstown.
Charlotte was a member of Temple Adath Yeshurun in Manchester.
SERVICES: A private graveside service was held at Manchester Hebrew Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beacon Hospice, 157 Main Dunstable Road, Suite 204, Nashua 03060. The Goodwin Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
