Charlotte Mansfield Obituary

Charlotte Soper Hatch "Carly" Mansfield passed away unexpectedly on the morning of July 19, 2025, after giving birth to a beautiful baby girl. She loved and was loved by everyone who knew her. She will be incredibly missed.

Carly was born on September 20, 1992, in Nashua, NH, growing up and living there until leaving for college. Quite simply, Carly was a radiant child who grew up to be an equally radiant woman. Wherever she went, Carly made friends quickly and easily, drawing people in with her sunny smile and her easy way. The memories her friends and families have of her are filled with stories of Carly's kindness, laughter, and warmth.

She was exceptional at just about everything she tried, much to the loving annoyance of her older sister and brother. Carly excelled in school, earning straight A's every year, and making challenging courses like chemistry and calculus look easy. Carly was also an accomplished athlete, playing varsity basketball and softball in high school, and rugby for three years in college. She even picked up fencing during her senior year, just to give it a try. Unsurprisingly, she was great.

After earning a degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College, she moved to Omaha, NE for work, where she met Jordan Mansfield, her future husband and love of her life, on her first day of work. Anyone who ever had the pleasure of spending time with the two of them could clearly see how much they loved each other and how perfect they were together.

Over the course of their courtship and marriage, Carly and Jordan moved 15 times, sending them across the country to Oregon, Georgia, Tennessee (three separate times), South Carolina, Michigan, and Kentucky. In 2022, they finally planted roots in New Boston, NH. Together, they began renovating their farmhouse into a joy-filled home, alongside their Bernedoodle, Riley, and two cats, Max and Maya. They spent their days growing flowers, fruits, and vegetables in their garden, working on their hours, taking long walks with Riley, and loving on their kitties. Carly's creative spirit thrived in their home as she made handmade quilts and wrote wildly good Ted Lasso fan fiction for a widespread writing community.

Carly is deeply, deeply mourned by her husband Jordan and newborn baby Penelope "Penny" Mansfield. As she was being moved to the operating room, Carly's last words to Jordan were, "I'll be okay. I love you and I love Penny." She was strong for Jordan so that he could be strong for their daughter, even through the end.

She is also mourned by every single person in her family, beginning with her mother and stepfather Tracy and Charlie Hall, and her father and stepmother Bill and Peg Hatch. She leaves behind her siblings Sarah Hosig and Zander Hatch; her brother-in-law Sam Hosig; her maternal grandmother Joan Soper; her stepsiblings Laura Ogonowski, Caroline Anderson, Mary Ogonowski, Derek Hall, Kathryn Eramo and Sarah Hall; her mother-in-law Lisa Mansfield; her father-in-law James Mansfield; her brothers-and-sisters-in-law Annie and Kristian Kowal, David and Abby Mansfield, Matthew and Cristi Mansfield, Erika and Matt Sahm, and Jacob Mansfield; her nephews Brayden Hosig, Malcolm Sahm, and Archie Mansfield; her nieces Ruby Sahm, DJ Mansfield, and Olivia, Eloise, and Evelyn Eramo; and innumerable aunts, uncles, and cousins.

SERVICES: Carly's life will be celebrated on July 24, 2025, with visitation from 3PM to 5PM and a service following at Davis Funeral Home, 1 Lock St., Nashua, NH. At Carly's request, we ask that no one wear black and everyone come to celebrate her love and life.

In lieu of flowers, Carly's family requests donations be made to a fund set up to help Jordan support Penny in the years to come. A GoFundMe has been set up or, if one prefers, checks can be sent to Penelope Mansfield, The Millyard Bank, 57 Northeastern Boulevard, Nashua NH 03062. https://www.gofundme.com/f/carlys-love-lives-on-through-penny

Carly was a bright light on this earth and that light will be so greatly missed every day.
