Doris LaPointe Obituary

Doris "Dolly" LaPointe, 98 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 6, 2025.

Dolly was born on September 1, 1927, the beloved daughter of Beatrice and Eugene Lemay. She was educated at St. John the Baptist School in Manchester and went on to West High School.

It was at West that Dolly met Bob LaPointe. They became high school sweethearts, graduated from West in 1944 and married in 1946. They raised 6 children and led a wonderful and interesting life together for 57 years until Bob passed away in 2003.

Dolly was a woman of deep faith and kindness. She was a dedicated homemaker, wife, grandma and great-grandmother. She loved every holiday, decorated her home beautifully, and celebrated with gifts, games and traditions for all the grandchildren.

Dolly was an accomplished seamstress. She loved gardening and was a wonderful cook. She also liked doing needlework and she knit many an Irish knit sweater and afghan.

She and Bob traveled extensively in nearly all 50 states, crossing the country, visiting historic sites and National Parks. They cruised to Alaska twice and to the Caribbean Islands.

Dolly lived by the Golden Rule. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, impeccable style, generosity, thoughtfulness, supreme love of family and love of living.

She will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses; Johanne Lord and husband Walter, Robert LaPointe and wife Celeste, Gary LaPointe and wife Susan, Linda Horan and husband Rich, David LaPointe and Jean, Brenda Hume and husband Mark; her 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; a life-long friend, Lorraine Morin, a dear friend Lisa Grenert and her wonderful caregiver, Tina Langlois.

May her love and spirit continue to shine in all of us. We love you, Mom. Thanks for everything, especially the memories.
