Doris Rand Obituary

Doris B. (DeBlois) Rand, beloved wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, friend, and community member, passed away October 17, 2025, at the age of 92. Her life was a testament to compassion, joy, and unwavering dedication to others.

She was born on August 3, 1933, to Anna (Mekulsia) and Wilfred DeBlois. Doris was raised in Manchester and Londonderry, NH, and graduated from Pinkerton Academy. She married the love of her life, Richard E. Rand, in 1953 and the couple settled in Derry, NH. While raising her family, Doris worked at Head Start, helping children with reading and writing. She later went on to work in production for GTE Sylvania, where she stayed until her retirement at the age of 58.

Doris lived for her family, her pets, her friends, and anyone in need. She had a heart that always put others first, and her kindness touched everyone she met. Whether she was cooking a delicious meal, tending to her garden full of vibrant flowers and vegetables, dancing to her favorite tunes, traveling across the U.S., or getting lost in a good book, Doris embraced life with enthusiasm and grace.

Her generosity extended far beyond her home. Doris was a volunteer at the Londonderry Senior Center, a proud Resident Ambassador at Birch Heights, and a gentle caregiver at St. Teresa's. Her social nature and caring spirit made her a beacon of light in every community she served.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and service. Doris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Richard E. Rand; their children, Daniel Rand and his wife Joyce of Fort Myers, FL, Corie Rand of Braintree, MA, and Michael Rand of Chester, NH; her granddaughter, Tiffany Crawford and her husband Burt; great grandchildren, Alex, Felicia, and Isaiah; as well as two great-great-grandchildren, Mila and Ayla.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her siblings, Jane Fagnant, Robert DeBlois, Nancy Elliott, and Richard DeBlois.

A Period of Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th, from 10:30am to 11:30am, at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH 03087. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow, beginning at 11:30am, followed by a luncheon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Doris's name, by check to: St. Teresa Residents Council, Mailing address: 519 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
