I would like to express my deepest condolences to the Hicks family.
I am truly surprised to hear of Ed's passing. I had just seen him at Target with Ann, Pamela, and his beautiful Grandchild. Ed had shared with me that day about his Cancer Treatment. But, there was no sign of any illness. As a matter of fact, he had played golf that morning. He was truly a fine Gentleman!

Pam and Mark,
I didn't know your Dad, but I know you Officer Medford through the DARE program. When I saw you in Farm Fresh and you told me that Ed wasn't doing well, I put him on all of my prayer lists. Even though his time to go home came quicker than anyone would wish,my prayer is that the Lord showered him with mercy and grace in his last days. May that same mercy, grace, peace and comfort bless you during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Kent's passing. He was a friend and "brother" to me. I was always welcomed into the Hicks' family home and made to feel like a member of their family. My thoughts and deepest sympathy are with all of you. Sincerely,

Where has he gone my brother Ed?
He could not die! He can't be dead!
Tomorrow when I need his care,
I know somehow that he'll be there...
He's been there all these years gone by
He must be here...he could not die!
In the eons of time this will be no big event,
But I will surely miss my best friend Kent....

Dear Ann, Pam, Scott and all of Ed's extended family, We are deeply saddened by the loss of Ed, or "Fast Eddie" as he was known by certain friends, co-workers, golfers, and hearts players. One could always count on a big smile and a hearty welcome when seeing him for the first time after a day, week, or several months absence. His infectious laugh accompanied an ability to recall and tell humorous jokes or stories for hours on end. His valiant fight against a terrible disease was not a reason to complain, he would say others had it worse and dismiss the subject out of hand. Although we had not remained as close as in years past it was nice to know that a true and sincere friend was near at hand, one who would respond to any request for assistance or advise.
We are truly sorry for your loss and want you to know our caring and support for you is unwavering. God bless you and yours and tell God to get ready to laugh because Fast Eddie is coming home. Love, Mickie and Gary
