Edward MacKeigan Obituary

In Loving Memory of Edward R. "Ted" MacKeigan

Edward R. MacKeigan, affectionately known as "Ted," passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the age of 84, surrounded by his beloved family.

Born on July 5, 1941, in Boston, Mass., Ted was the son of Randall and Ruth (Brown) MacKeigan. He was predeceased by his brother, Douglas MacKeigan and sister, Joan Moulton.

Ted is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Beverly (Lister) MacKeigan. They were married in 1963 at St. Barbara Church in Woburn, Mass., following Ted's service in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1962, stationed in Korea. The couple moved from the Boston area to Mont Vernon in 1973 to raise their growing family. He is also survived by his five children: Christian MacKeigan of Bennington, N.H.; Susan Svitak and husband, Keith, of Nashua, N.H.; Michelle Boucher and husband, Scott, of Milford, N.H.; Matthew MacKeigan and wife, Laurie, of Bennington, N.H.; and Scott MacKeigan and wife, Lourdes, of Mesa, Arizona.

He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Darian Fisher, Stephanie Polly, Sophia MacKeigan, Paris MacKeigan, Shevonne MacKeigan, Bryce Boucher, Dylan Boucher, and Jason Svitak. Ted also leaves behind four cherished great-grandchildren: Jamie Todd Polly, Adeline Polly, Benson Teddy Polly, and Geralt Fisher.

Known for his steadfast work ethic and craftsmanship, Ted worked alongside his stepfather at the family-owned Albert G. Picone Trucking Co., later building a career as a skilled and self-employed carpenter for many years before his retirement.

A memorial Mass was held on Monday, July 21, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 708 Milford Road, Merrimack, N.H. A Celebration of Ted's Life followed immediately after the service. The burial will take place privately at a later date, in accordance with the family's wishes.

Ted's legacy of love, humor, and unwavering devotion to God, his family, and pets will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. - Isaiah 41:10 - So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
