Frank Barrett Kotler

Frank Barrett Kotler, 79, passed away peacefully at his home in Raymond, NH, on May 18, 2024.

Born on September 5, 1944, in Arlington, MA, Frank was the beloved son of the late Francis H. Kotler and Milvenia (Brown) Kotler. He spent his formative years in Lexington, MA, alongside his sister, Nancy. Frank graduated from Lexington High School, where he and his friends formed the Lexington Anarchists Scooter Society, a group that maintained its camaraderie through regular Zoom meetings even in recent years.

Frank attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York but left to be with his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Nowers. The couple married and welcomed their daughter, Katrina. In 1970, they moved to Nottingham, NH, where Frank established the Nottingham Recycling Center and Elizabeth served as a selectman. Frank was a third-generation tool maker at Reltok in Danville, NH, a company with roots in Cambridge, MA.

After Frank and Elizabeth divorced, he relocated to Raymond, NH, in 1986. Known for his eccentricity and preference for a quiet, secluded life, Frank enjoyed listening to music, particularly blues and folk music. His mechanical skills fueled a passion for antique tractors, and he was also an active moderator for the NASM assembly news group.

Frank was predeceased by his parents and his former son-in-law, Tim Owen, for whom he had great affection. He is survived by his daughter, Katrina Kotler, and her husband, David Mansour; his sister, Nancy Meinhard; and his nieces, Tara and Anna; and Tim's child Stellan Clark and their mother Suzanne Clark

A celebration of Frank's life will be announced at a later date. He will be laid to rest at Southside Cemetery in Nottingham, NH.

Frank's unique spirit and contributions to his community will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
