Frank Moulin Obituary

My grandfather was a great man; kind, loving, wise, and witty. He was born Feb 29, 1928 and passed October 28, 2023 - 95 years young.

Frank was born in Biddeford, Maine to Frank C. and Beth Moulin in 1928. He lived a playful childhood and went on to graduate from Biddeford High School in 1946. Soon after, he enlisted in the US Army serving in the 19th Infantry, 24th Division on occupation duty in Beppu, Japan.

Shortly after attending the New England School of Arts, he met the love of his life, Aline Fleurent. They were married April 19, 1959 and enjoyed 50 years together before her passing in 2009. Frank was a commercial newspaper artist for the Portland Division, Bangor Daily News, which led to a 38-year career at the Union Leader.

He was predeceased by his wife, Aline Moulin, sister Marlene Moulin, and daughter, Karen Rose. His surviving family members are his granddaughter, Andréa Tromp, and great-grandchildren Marcus Rose and Jayden Robinson. A special thank you to Frank's son-in-law and devoted caregiver John Finck, who has stayed by his side the past several years and has provided unconditional support.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023, 2 p.m. at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 DW Highway, in Boscawen, NH.

I just learned of Frank´s passing. I worked with him as his physical therapist for a time and enjoyed his life stories and humor. He was a great man and gave me a few of his paintings that I cherish deeply. These will always serve as a reminder to me of why I do the work that I do. You will be greatly missed Frank!

I am so very sorry to just learn of Frank's passing. My Mom, Gail LaBuda, thought the world of him and his gorgeous art work. I'm not sure if they met while volunteering or if they lived in the same condo association but I do know that she very much respected him. I am deeply sorry for your loss.

I just learned of Frank's passing. I met him when he volunteered at Easter Seals. He was so generous with his time and talent. I learned so much from him, as did the participants in our adult day program. I feel so lucky to have known him.

Frank came to my print shop to have me assist him with copies of some of his artwork several years ago. He was a wonderful artist and a very kind man. I am so sorry for your loss.

My father, Lou Dumont, and Frank were colleagues at the Union Leader. They were friends and I recall fun visits with our families.
Condolences, and hopes of solace from fond memories.

I am truly saddened to learn of Frank's passing. Frank was not only a fellow worker in the Union Leader art department but a very close friend during my 46 years as an employee there. We had many great times together and I learned a tremendous amount about advertising art working side by side with him. Frank was a wonderful and warm human being with a truly great sense of humor, which I really appreciated. When Frank retired, he specialized in paintings with watercolor and pen and ink. He will truly be missed by all who knew and worked with him. I consider myself to be very lucky to have been a friend and fellow worker with such a wonderful man. RIP friend.
