Frederick W. "Fred" Merrill

Frederick Wilson Merrill age 74, of Derry, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 26, 2023 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Anne-Marie (Provost) for almost 15 years and stepfather to Molly Davis (John) and Courtney LeFrancois (Andrew). Loving father to Michelle Merrill (David) and Joseph, deceased with his former spouse Linda. Dearest brother of Thomas Merrill (Debbie), Marjorie, and Sally Crotty (Mark); cherished grandfather to Katie and Ryan, uncle to many nieces and nephews, true friend to many, and devoted owner of his mischievous dog, Bear.

Fred was a graduate of Lakenheath High School ('67) and received his associates degree in accounting from Franklin Pierce College. He worked as an accountant in his own practice for 45 years. Fred was a voracious reader, a skilled card player, and dedicated golfer. He was an active member of his community, passionately supporting many local community causes including the Greater Derry Community Health Services, Alexander Eastman Foundation, Derry Little League, Derry Rotary Club, Nutfield School, and First Parish Church of East Derry. A lifelong New Englander, Fred enjoyed supporting his beloved Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots.

Friends will be received at the Peabody Funeral Home, 290 Mammoth Road in Londonderry, NH on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 4-7 pm with prayers at 4:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday at First Parish Congregational Church, 47 E Derry Road, Derry, NH at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in Fred's name to First Parish Congregational Church Building Rehabilitation fund at https://fotmh.org/donate.
