LONDONDERRY -- Geraldine A. Bennett, 77, died Aug. 3, 2008, in her home.
She was born in Cambridge, Mass., Sept. 3, 1930, to Andrew and Anne (Sullivan) Sitar. She was a resident of Londonderry for the past four years, formerly living in Concord, Mass., and Framingham, Mass.
She was educated in St. John's School in Cambridge.
She married Joe Bennett on June 2, 1951. Mrs. Bennett worked for many years as an administrative assistant for St. Johnsbury Trucking and for the Concord Oil Company in Concord, Mass. She was an avid reader.
IN HER LIFE: She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Joe Bennett of Londonderry; daughters Denise Jordan and her husband Brian of Derry, and Anne Dennis of Merrimack; four sons, Keith Bennett and his wife Diane of League City, Texas, Richard Bennett and his wife Pamela of Merrimack, Ronald Bennett and his wife Jennifer of Tewksbury, Mass., and Joseph Bennett and his wife Brenda of Derry; 13 grandchildren, Matthew Jordan, Adam Jordan, Stephen Bennett, Kevin Bennett, Mark Bennett, Kym Casterline, Kyle Bennett, Caitlin Bennett, Olivia Bennett, Michael Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Courtney Dennis and Christopher Dennis; two great-grandchildren, Chase Casterline and Logan Casterline; one brother, Andrew Sitar of Syracuse, N.Y.; and one sister, Adell Forrest of Osterville, Mass.
She was predeceased by her brother, Jack Sitar.
Mrs. Bennett enjoyed her close-knit family, loved children, and for 56 years, between her children and grandchildren, had always had a baby in her home.
SERVICES: Following cremation, a calling hour is Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, with a memorial service following at 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurse Assn. of Manchester and Southern NH, 33 South Commercial St., Suite 401, Manchester 03101.
