Gertrude L. Rybczyk

1943 - 2022

Gertrude L. Rybczyk, 78, of Manchester, NH passed away surrounded by her loved ones on June 9th, 2022. She was born on August 4th, 1943 to the late Romeo & Lina (Tanguay) Lemieux.

Born and raised in Manchester, Gertie lived most of her life there where she could always be close to family and loved ones. She worked at local shoe shops in Manchester for the first 20 years of her career. She then moved onto the Merrimack School District working for many years in various schools until retiring in 2019.

Gertie loved the simpler things in life such as quilting, playing cards, Scrabble, and donating to local gambling establishments. Family meant everything to Gertie. She loved the holidays, family gatherings, she would never show up without her signature Pita, and was always happiest when spending time with the people she loved most, especially her Grandchildren.

Gertrude has joined the love of her life Albert Maheu; sister Rita Erskine; brother George Lemieux and infant daughter Mary in heaven. She is survived by her daughter Kimberley whom she lived with; son Michael and his wife Amy; daughter Alexis and her husband Stephen; son Joshwa and his wife Cindy; brother Paul and his wife Marti; sister Germaine; 5 grandchildren Kristofer, Shaynah, Sydney, Zackary, Cameron; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, many other lifelong friends, her weekend "boyfriends" Jack and Paulie and her dinner partner Aline.

Although she was Mom, Gram and Matante to her family, many others were lucky enough to experience her unconditional love and brutal honesty.

A celebration of Gertie's life will be held on Friday, June 24th from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations in her memory be made to any hospice organization of your choice.
