First and foremost my wife Marie and I send our sincerest condolences to Jim's wife, Gail, to his daughters, Emily, Holly and Amy, and to his granddaughter Abigail on your loss.

I had the privilege of working with Jim at Weather Services Corporation (WSC) for over 20 years. Jim was a very highly skilled meteorologist back in the days when computer modeling was in its infancy compared to what exists today and it took pure knowledge and skill to excel at the job. Simply put, he had plenty of both and was one of the best.

We worked together from the 70´s until 2000 but we remained very close friends thereafter. We spoke frequently and would share conversations about a host of topics, some of our favorites including politics, sports and even cooking. Jim was an avid sports fan, and especially enjoyed watching football and baseball. Having been born in PA he enjoyed following the Steelers, but equally enjoyed watching the Patriots as well. And the Red Sox were almost always front and center for him all season long, right up to this year´s playoffs.

Always a family man, Jim continually provided support and guidance to his girls. And he and Gail became a very proud grandparents when Abigail was born.

Nobody but Jim would know the meaning of this final emphatic comment, which makes it special for me to conclude with......

"North at 3!".....and Godspeed, my friend.
