Jennifer LaPointe Obituary

EPPING - Jennifer Hall LaPointe, 56, took her place among God's angels as she passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 8, 2013, after a valiant, but private, struggle with breast and bone cancer.

She was born in Willimantic, Conn., on Nov. 2, 1956, to Jean Hall and Giuseppina "Dolly" (Carboni) Hall, who both predeceased her. She graduated from Windham High School in 1974, and attended the University of New Hampshire, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in history, magna cum laude, in 1977. She received her master's degree in natural resources in 1996.

Jennifer operated her own real estate title and boundary research business and later worked for the State of New Hampshire Department of Transportation as a right-of-way abstractor.

She was an amazing steward of the earth, and showed her profound love of nature by helping to preserve the wonders and beauty of the region including serving on the Epping Conservation Commission and as a docent for the N.H. Fish and Game Department program, Wonders of Wildlife.

Jennifer is survived by her husband, Scott W. LaPointe, and her son, Jordan S. LaPointe, of Epping. And she is survived by her two sisters and their husbands, Gina and Sean McGuire of Laconia, and Lisa and Matthew Sargent, of Stafford Springs, Conn.

She is also survived by her in-laws, Roland R. and Evelyn LaPointe of Greenville, S.C., Muriel LaPointe of Bedford, Marilyn and Keith Slater of Manchester, and Nancy A. LaPointe of Newport, and Susan E. LaPointe of Fort Jackson, Texas.

She was predeceased by her son, Trevor Scott LaPointe, her daughter, Maia Jennifer LaPointe, and her stepfather, Frank R. Allen, M.D., formerly of Wolfeboro.

Jennifer will forever be remembered for her tremendous spirit, her sharp wit, and infectious laugh. She had a kind manner and an uplifting attitude. She lived and loved life with a beautiful and open heart. The ripple she left in the pool of life will benefit and influence many. She will never be forgotten.

To Jenny's family and many friends -
It is so sad to hear of Jenny's passing. We were friends in high school, shared happy times and some of our life challenges, and both had hopes of a bright future. I am glad her dreams were realized in the form of a full, love-filled life.

Jenny's family wrote: "Jennifer's family has requested that you do something nice for someone or for yourself."In Jenny's memory, a bird is receiving rehabilitation care here on St. John, and will be returned to the wild.

My Sister, My Mentor, My Co-Conspirator in Mischiefmaking. How lulih LI77i was I in embraceing life with you, and growing together, in raising our Children together,

My Sister, My Friend, My Fellow Maker in Mischief, a Woman who sought light and knowledge and laughter, and always passed it on. I will miss your fiestiness, your fierce love. Thank you for letting me be a part of your time and Scott's as we raised our children together and then marvelled together at how in actuality
they were raising and teaching us. Scott and Jordan you are much loved, treasured and through your moments of loss I wish you feel many more of joy. Keep the ability to walk in balance, to continue to share and revel in the incredible gifts your Mom and Wife gave us, and I will continue to pass on the good news.

I was a good friend of Jenny's in high school. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. I can still remember her laugh. We spent many hours riding our bikes back and forth to each others house. Her family was wonderful and warm. My deepest sympathies go out to you all.

"Love ... Cheer ... Integrity ... Freedom and Joy." Words from Jennifer's last email to us. We returned to Epping yesterday shocked & saddened realizing we cannot tell her in person how much her steadfast encouragement has meant to us.

I am moved to tears by the expression of Jennifer's life - the courage, compassion and most of all her deep love and affection.

Maia, Trevor and surely our brother Jacob are with her too now. Jacob was, like Jennifer, a very fine energy worker. As I type this I receive images of Jacob making them laugh. Even though I have never met Jennifer in person or in physical, I feel as though I have. I am so grateful to have a connection with Jennifer's beautiful, angelic being.

Scott & Jordan. Nothing needs to be said. I am just with you.

I had the privilege of working with Jenny one summer at Rec Park in Willimantic. I don't think I saw her again after that but I remember what a bright, sweet, beautiful girl she was. I'm truly sorry to hear that she was taken so far before her time and I want to offer my deepest condolences to her family.

Jenny was my "ole college buddy" as we used to kid around when we were small. We spent many a day having tea parties and playing dolls at the house on South Street in Wmtc. I will never forget her laugh and sense of humor. Such a tragedy to lose someone so special. My prayers go out to Scott and Jordan.
