John Hynes Obituary

John P. Hynes, 73, of Manchester, NH, passed away on December 12, 2025, after a period of declining health.

Born in Manchester on November 18, 1952, he was the son of the late John and Barbara (Kearns) Hynes. A lifelong resident of the Queen City, John remained deeply connected to the community he proudly called home.

He was a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School, Class of 1970.

Until his retirement, he was a production clerk with GTE/ Osram Sylvania for thirty years.

John was known for his love of daily walks through his neighborhood, where he enjoyed greeting friends and neighbors along the way. A devoted sports enthusiast, he was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, and he also followed local sports with great enthusiasm. Generosity and compassion were at the heart of who John was. Philanthropy and charity guided his life, and he was always willing to give, whether through quiet acts of kindness or a helping hand He will be fondly remembered for his gentle spirit, selfless nature, and kind heart.

John cherished his family and the close relationships he maintained throughout his life. He is survived by two sisters, Kathleen Conneally of Manchester and Mary L. Hynes of Enfield; two nieces, Tara and Samantha; a nephew, Colin, and his spouse, Stephen; and a great-niece, Rowan. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Hynes, in 2023, and by his longtime life partner, Yvette Dancause, in 2004.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 3 to 5 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.

Oh I am saddened to hear this news! John and I worked together and I was the one that introduced John to one of my best friend, Yvette years ago. I'll never forget that small plane ride to Atlantic City with you guys and my babe. It sure was cold as heck. I think we went for valentines Day and that plane ride sure was bumpy. I know Yvette will be waiting for you buddy. She loved you with all her heart!!! After you give Yvette and hug and a kiss...please go give my babe a hug from me..See you all in heaven when it's my turn...
