John Kalil Obituary
Born April 2, 1916, he was the second son of Bshara and Annie (Coriaty) Kalil and grew up on Rosedale Avenue in south Manchester. He traveled to Hawaii every winter and loved skiing in France at Chamonix, in Switzerland at Zermatt, and locally in Vermont at Jay Peak. Prior to his retirement, he was a civil engineer. Like his father, he enjoyed growing a vegetable garden in his yard. He had a love-hate relationship with his blue Mercedes 280SL.
He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, Dr. Toufic Kalil, Dr. Frederick Kalil, and Alice Christou, all of whom were residents of the Manchester area. Family members include sister-in-law Mrs. Frederick (Madeleine) Kalil of Vero Beach, FL; four nephews, Frederick Kalil Jr. of Arlington, MA, Peter Kalil of Waban, MA, Stephen Christou of Cape Coral, FL, Stephen Kalil of Bedford; and two nieces, Martha Kennedy of Greenwich, CT, and Lisa Christou of Manchester.
Calling hours will be on Monday, March 5, 2018 from 5 to 7 p.m. at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St., Manchester. A funeral service will take place Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cedars Church, corner of Calef Rd. and Mitchell St.
Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of the Cedars Church, 140 Mitchell St., Manchester NH 03103.
