Kathleen Krause Obituary

Kathleen A. (Quirk) Krause, 76, of Manchester, NH, died October 20, 2024, at Elliott Hospital, after a sudden illness.

Born in Manchester, NH on June 15, 1948, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Armstrong) Quirk. She was raised in Manchester and resided in Massachusetts and Connecticut before returning to New Hampshire, first to Bedford before finally coming home to the Queen City.

Kathy was a 1966 graduate of Immaculata High School and a 1970 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She dedicated her life to caring for others and worked as a Registered Nurse at the Manchester VA Medical Center until her retirement in 2010.

Kathy will be fondly remembered as a loving and caring wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all that had the honor of knowing her.

Kathy loved the beach and some of her family's fondest memories are of their trips to Rye Beach in the summer.

She had a sharp wit and great sense of humor and loved to laugh.

She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow up and succeed.

Kathy was married to her beloved husband of forty-six years, Gary P. Krause. He died May 5, 2020. She was also predeceased by her sister, Eileen, Slattum.

Family members include two sons, Gregory Krause of Manchester and Geoffrey Krause of Karlsruhe, Germany; two grandsons, Brennen and Declan Krause; and two brothers, John Quirk and Martin Quirk, both of Manchester.

Services: A calling hour will be held Thursday, October 31, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11 AM.

Committal prayers and burial will proceed in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.

Marty ... So sorry to hear about this. I remember meeting her decades ago and she was such a fun-loving, vivacious girl with that trademark Quirk smile. May she rest in peace but in some afterlife still enjoy your wonderful music. May the road rise to meet her.
