Lemont Haas Obituary
He was born at Edward AFB in California on May 24th, 1960 to the late Krescentia (Schnitzenbaumer) and Water C. Haas, Jr. He was raised in Merrimack and was a graduate of Merrimack High School.
Lemont worked as a Production Manager for the Union Leader newspaper in Manchester, where he had been employed for 23 years. Lemont enjoyed camping, hiking, skiing with his family, and his best canine friend Wolfgang.
Along with his parents, he was pre-deceased by his brother Dr. Leon Haas on June 2nd, 2014, and foster son, Kevin Rich.
He will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Michelle (Cote) Haas; two sons, Alex and Ian Haas; three siblings, Laverne Haas and his wife Nancy, Larry Haas, and Ruth Palmer; lifelong friends David and Eanne Hahn; along with several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 16 Baboosic Lake Road, Merrimack on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022 at 9:30 AM.

I had been trying to get in touch with Lemont for a few years and because of my search, I just found out now of his passing. I worked with him at UltraScan in Hudson N.H. in the early 80's and we hit it off immediately. His sense of humor of our co-workers and work environment was all I needed. He met Michelle when we worked together and I could tell they were meant to be. I always thought about him, but, hey, you know, life happens. Maybe it is a cliché, but don't wait too long to reach out and connect to old friends. I really wish I had worked harder to get together with Lemont and reminisce and laugh like we once did.

As the night foreman of the pressroom, I had the opportunity to work closely with Lemont in his position as Production Manager.
He was a good man with a great sense of humor and he always treated me with respect, both personally and professionally. I am so sorry to hear about his passing.

I was so saddened to learn about Lemont’s passing. I worked with him for many years when I was at Neighborhood News and then the Union Leader. He was a great guy, always willing to lend a helping hand, friendly, caring, funny, and, perhaps most importantly, of strong moral character. I really liked Lemont. Going to miss you a lot! We had some good times and some fun ones! I will always remember that time i walked out of woods onto dirt road and you ran towards me saying "we lost your Dad" turned out best hunting trip ever! You did a great job raising the boys!
