LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Lisa V. MacDonald Dungan, 41, died Oct. 17, 2009, at home surrounded by family and friends.
She was born May 25, 1968, in Brunswick, Maine, and was a free spirit who wanted to explore the West, so she headed out to New Mexico after graduating from Canaan High School.
She worked for Smith's in El Paso and Las Cruces, moving into management. She went on to graduate from MTTI with a degree as a licensed massage therapist and worked locally with Armando's salon.
She faced the adversity head on and with courage and she fought to ensure that the disease would never hinder her spirit. She was an avid lover of the outdoors, always hiking, boating at the lake, scuba diving, traveling, and gardening. She was a skydiver, participated in motorcycle rallies and charity runs, swam with sharks in Belize and dolphins in Hawaii. She was an amazing chef and loved entertaining family and friends. Lisa chose to donate her body for research with MedCure.
Family members include her mother, Diane Delorge of Canaan, Vt.; father, Ted MacDonald of Las Cruces, N.M.; sister, Marise Burns of Pittsburg, N.H.; and grandmother, Claire Inkel of Beecher Falls, Vt.; many aunts and uncles.

Meeting Lisa through work at Frontier, I was impressed with her strong work ethic. She was a pleasure to have on my team and attempted to keep a positive attitude throughout life's trials. I'm sure she did the same when facing her illness. To Lisa's family: Accept my condolences and know she was a wonderful addition to this world.

I don't even know where to start. Words alone can not express what I feel at this moment. Lisa you were always so beautiful, confident, strong and so full of life. Living every moment. I still can't believe it. Yet, I know God must have wanted you home. Ted, there are not even words to express my sorrow for you. My heart is with you and your family.
Always,

My heart hurts for the loss of this beautiful person who touched so many. She was the life of many parties and her memory will live on through the people she touched. I met her many years ago and through the busyness of life we lost contact but, she was never forgotten. God bless- Sergio Cereceres and Family

What does one usually say about someone who has passed? That they loved life. I can say that Lisa was the epitomy of that statement. She always had a smile and a great story to go with it. Cheers, to one of the most courageous and loving people I've had the pleasure to know.

Lisa and her family,
I met Lisa a while back and the last time I saw her was for her benefit run here in Las Cruces. My condolences and prayers go out to her family. She was a bright, inspirational lady and amazing to still be helping for cures as we are left with her spirit and memories. I'm glad I got to meet you, Lisa.

Due to her strength and sincere heart she will be able to help the new generation. She is a true angel and I know she was loved and respected by many.
