ROCKLAND, Mass. -- Louise Foley, 85, formerly of Quincy and Braintree, died Nov. 3, 2008, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, N.H., surrounded by her family.
She was born in Boston on Feb. 24, 1923, to William and Mary (Hamilton) Jones.
She spent her younger years in Quincy before moving to Braintree, where she lived from 1967 until 1986.
Mrs. Foley served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Rockland.
Before her retirement, she was a bookkeeper for several years and had worked for the Multi Bank in Dedham.
Family members include daughter Josephine Greene of Amherst; sister Mary Urann of Walpole, Mass.; several nieces and nephews.
IN HER LIFE: She was the widow of John Foley, who died in 1984, and was also predeceased by a sister, Dorothea Willard. She is survived by a son- in-law Mike Greene of Amherst; four grandchildren, Michelle and her husband Justin Hickman, Jennifer, Joanna and John Greene; and a great-grandson, Brayden Hickman.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. John Neumann Church, Route 101A, Merrimack. Burial will follow in Holy Hood Cemetery, Brookline, Mass.

Maam, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USCG during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
