Mary Patricia "Pat" Carbone, age 85, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2025, at Catholic Medical Center in
Manchester, NH, following a brief medical event.
Born on March 16, 1940, in Weymouth, MA, Pat was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Leona (Morrow) Gunville. She grew up in Weymouth as the eldest of two children and graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, MA. Guided by a lifelong passion for caring for others, she went on to earn her nursing license from Catherine Laboure School of Nursing in Milton, MA.
Pat dedicated her career to psychiatric nursing, serving patients with compassion and commitment. She worked for many years at the VA Hospital in Brockton, MA, and at Bournewood Hospital in Chestnut Hill, MA. Later, she continued her calling with the Visiting Nurses Association at Pine Rock Manor in Warner, NH. A heart transplant in 2005 led to her retirement, but her caring nature never wavered.
On November 13, 1993, Pat married, David Carbone, whom she had met at a dance in Dedham, MA, the year before. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure, making their home in
Deerfield, NH, since 2002, and previously residing in New Boston, Warner, and
Manchester, NH. Pat also spent many years in Rockland, MA, where she raised her family and was an active member of Holy Family Church, teaching CCD and serving her parish community.
Pat was known for her big heart, her dedication to family, and her love for animals. A devoted caretaker to countless strays and feral cats, she adored her beloved 14-year-old black lab, Princess, and her Siamese cats. She had a spirited love for life-whether snowmobiling, attending car shows and races with David, or spending time with her cherished friends and family.
She was a proud member of the Deerfield Woman's Club and deeply valued the connections she made in every community she called home.
In addition to her parents, Pat was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen Livoti.
She is survived by her devoted husband, David Carbone; her four daughters, Kathleen Donnell, Patricia Strang, Lorraine Hines, and Marlene Wilkinson; two step-children, Tammy Moody and David "Butch" Carbone Jr.; many beloved grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and two nephews.
