MANCHESTER -- Matthew R. Griffin Sr., 64, died Feb. 25, 2011, at Elliot Hospital.
He was born in Manchester, April 4, 1946, to Levi and Rachel (Gariepy) Griffin Sr.
He was a lifelong resident of the city.
He worked for Queen City Glass and Mirror for seven years, until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and target shooting. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in Puerto Rico during the Vietnam War.
IN HIS LIFE: Family members include his wife of 40 years, Doris (Cusson) Griffin; a son, Matthew Griffin Jr., and his wife Katie of Hooksett; a daughter, Laura Schenker and her husband Anthony of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; a sister, Joyce Gosselin, and her husband Phil of Manchester; nephews, nieces and cousins.
SERVICES: A cemetery committal service with military honors is scheduled for this summer in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
Memorial donations may be made to VNA of Manchester and Southern NH, 33 South Commercial St., Suite 401, Manchester, 03110.
