In 1960 Nancy met her husband John C. Dwyer, Sr., and married within five months. Nancy had three sons within less than three years and took time off from teaching to raise them. She returned to her teaching career at Weston Elementary School, in Manchester, NH. in 1968 and continued until her retirement in 1991.

Nancy loved the beach and spent every summer with her children and family at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire. She was an avid reader, and could easily read 10 books in a week, she very much enjoyed in her elder years her dog Seamus sitting on her lap, she maintained a perfect and beautiful penmanship her entire life. One of her greatest joys in her elder years was receiving letters from her grandson JC whom she taught and passed on her beautiful penmanship to. Nancy was a member of the National Education Association, the Manchester Education Association and the Manchester Association for retired teachers.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband John C. Dwyer Sr., and husband Roger A. Filteau, her sisters, June Bray Reilly, and Marilyn Bray Duffley. She is survived by her three sons, John C.
