Nancy Anne Danzinger

Nancy Anne (Powers) Danzinger, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 14, 2025. Born on February 8, 1939, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Ivan H. and Elaine M. Powers of Houston, Texas. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Richard (Dick) Danzinger. She is remembered lovingly by her brother, Jonathan R. Powers, and his wife, Susan W., as well as her sister-in-law, Dee Danzinger.

Nancy was married to the love of her life, Richard Lee Danzinger of Des Moines, Iowa. They married on June 18, 1960, and together raised three sons of whom she was immensely proud.

Mimi, as her family affectionately called her, is survived by her children: Her three sons, Michael Danzinger and his spouse Lisa P. Danzinger, Jeffrey Danzinger and his spouse Kathleen Danzinger, and William Danzinger and his spouse Jeannine Hicks.

Nancy was a cherished grandmother to: Jeanine Lessard, Natasha (Terrance) Shepherd, Kaitlin (Cody) Alves, Sarah (Jarad) Scott, and Jack Danzinger.

She was a loving great-grandmother to: Taelyr Lessard, Nolan Alves, Carter Alves, Brendon Shepherd, Nora Alves, and Avery Shepherd.

Nancy's life was defined by creativity, teaching, family, and a deep dedication to craft. She graduated from Maine Township High School in Park Ridge, Illinois, in 1957 and went on to attend Iowa State University, studying Home Economics with a concentration in Applied Art. She later earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts, cum laude, from Boston University in 1980.

A gifted and passionate weaver, Nancy became a state-juried member of the New Hampshire League of Craftsmen, teaching weaving for the League in Nashua. She also taught at the Nashua Arts and Science Center and created countless wall hangings, apparel, and textile works from her studio for many years. Nancy shared her knowledge widely, teaching textile design and construction at Nashua High School, as well as weaving, color, and two- and three-dimensional fiber design at Rivier College. She also taught weaving at the Worcester Center for Crafts in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her students and fellow artists regarded her as both a talented creator and a generous mentor.

Nancy was a two-time president and longtime singer with the Manchester Choral Society. She also embraced her love of gardening, operating Greeley Gardens, a daylily farm where she cultivated over 12,000 daylilies in a wide variety of sizes and colors. At home, she maintained extensive gardens with more than 250 different daylily species.

Nancy was a longtime member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Milford, NH, and previously belonged to Unitarian Universalist congregations in Nashua, NH; Rochester, NY; Germantown, PA; and Manchester, NH.



Nancy lived a life of curiosity, kindness, creativity, and generosity. She touched countless lives through her teaching, her art, her music, her gardens, and her unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
