Newton C. Johnson

BROOKLYN, N.Y. -- Newton C. Johnson, 80, died Oct. 27, 2008, at Rutland Nursing Home, Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Arima, Trinidad, on April 6, 1928, to Charles and Amy Johnson.

Before his retirement, he was an electrician for Local Union 164 IBEW in New York.

Family includes his wife, Esme (Phillip) Johnson; sons Wayne Johnson of Long Island and Weldon Johnson of Brooklyn; daughters Gail Johnson and Germaine Johnson, both of Brooklyn, and Jennifer McGary of Deerfield, N.H.; and six grandchildren.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Monday from 10 a.m. to noon at Maiden-Petrin Funeral Home, Four Corners, corner of Routes 43 and 27 in Candia, N.H.

A service will follow at noon in the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Old Center Cemetery, Deerfield.
