Pauline St. Germain Obituary

Pauline (Roy) St. Germain, 92, of Merrimack, NH, passed away May 27 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a period of declining health. She was born in Manchester, NH, on August 31, 1928, daughter of the late Denis and Alice (Gagnon) Roy.

In addition to her parents, Pauline was predeceased by her siblings Marie Gadbois, Dolores Moquin, Louise Soucy, Laurette Beaulac, Gertrude Roy, Edward Roy, Robert Roy, and Roger Roy. She was also predeceased by her eldest son, Donald St. Germain, and her daughter, Donna (St. Germain) Lewis.

She is survived by a son, Michael St. Germain and his wife Susan Nykamp of Amherst, NH; five grandchildren, Donald Lewis III (and his fiancee Maria Campbell) of Boston, MA; Nicole Barnett and her husband Nathan of Concord, NH; McKenzie St. Germain of Manchester, NH; and Holley St. Germain and Christopher St. Germain of Alabama; two great grandchildren, Lily and Henry Barnett of Concord, NH; and many nieces and nephews.

Pauline's heart belonged to her family, and she cherished time with them. She was an active, devoted grandmother, always ready to lend a hand, cook a meal, be a chauffeur, be the loudest spectator at athletic events, volunteer as a field trip chaperone, and join in any fun activities. Her great-grandchildren were precious to her. The premature loss of two of her beloved adult children was a pain that she bore most courageously despite the scars it left.

Pauline had a never-ending zest for all aspects of life, and her energy was contagious to those around her. She was always ready for any new adventure and, to her, obstacles were simply challenges to be overcome. She wrung every moment from every day. She especially loved lobster, chocolate, ice cream, Hampton Beach, and the Patriots and Red Sox. She was a lifelong active communicant in the Catholic Church, most recently Our Lady of Mercy in

Merrimack.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 4, at Our Lady of Mercy, 16 Baboosic Lake Rd., Merrimack, N.H. at 10 a.m., preceded by a time for visitation at 9:30 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice House, 210

Naticook Rd., Merrimack, NH 03054.

I am so blessed to have work with Pauline for the past few years. She was such a caring, loving, and funny lady. It never seemed like work when I was there. I feel like I knew you all, as she talked about each and everyone of you with such love and admiration. I am so glad that Easter and Mother's Day was filled with lots of visits for her with family.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived and that it brings peace to your hearts.

My Aunt Pauline, my mothers baby sister, was always smiling and had a twinkle in her eyes! She always had laughter around her! We were both born in August... I was the 1st day and she was the last day!
She was a beautiful lady.
