Pietro Paulo Russo

Pietro Paulo Russo died on October 21, 2025. He was born in Naples, Italy on June 29, 1933. He was born on St Peter's day during a Holy year.

He was the first born to Vincenzo Russo and Carmela Porto. His father was so excited about his birth and due to the celebration, didn't declare his birth until June 30th which caused the paper to publish his birthday on the wrong day. As a result he has always celebrated two birthdays.

He arrived in the US on December 26th in 1951. The New York authorities dropped his middle name and legally put his birthday as June 30th.

He settled in NH where his mother was living in Nashua. He learned to speak English and later married his English instructor, Lorraine Patricia LaMothe (1935-2020) on June 23, 1956. They were married for 20 years but rekindled a friendship later in life. They had three children: Phillip Vincent 1957-2006, Vincent Peter 1959-1994 , and Anita Carmela.

Pietro lived and worked in Nashua as a Machinist at Ingersoll Rand (IMPC0). He also lived in Manchester and Goffstown and summered in Florida.

He was a very gregarious person with many friends who could often be heard saying: "I love Peter". He enjoyed traveling, and went back to his place of birth multiple times over his lifetime. He loved playing cribbage, sudoku, cooking, and spoke three languages: Italian, English and French. He is survived by his daughter, Anita, her husband Michael O'Brien, his grandson Christopher Kelliher, his wife Kim, and his great granddaughter Nora.

Services: A calling hour will be held Monday, October 27, 2025, from 9 to 10 AM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH, 03104.

A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 10 AM. Committal prayers and entombment will proceed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd, Manchester, NH.
