René LaRouche Obituary

MERRIMACK - René J. LaRouche, 89, a longtime resident of North Chelmsford, Mass., died March 3, 2012, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack.

He was the beloved husband of the late Lucile P. (Durocher) LaRouche, whom he married on Aug. 30, 1958.

Born in Manchester July 22, 1922, he was the son of the late Didyme and Laura (Michaud) Larouche and brother of Pauline (Larouche) St. Pierre.

A graduate of Lowell High School and a World War II veteran, he enlisted in the Naval Air Force as an aviation cadet and aircraft mechanic. He served in the Pacific from 1943 to 1946 and was awarded the Philippine Liberation Medal.

Following the war, he pursued a 32-year career as lead aviation mechanical technician at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Mass. Post-Hanscom occupations included 13 years of service for the Town of Chelmsford in various mechanical and planning capacities, the Lowell School Department and real estate brokerage.

Rene was always a wonderful and caring uncle and friend to all of his surviving family members, which include his sister, Pauline St. Pierre of Manchester; 13 nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and great- nephews in the U.S. and Canada; a cousin, Lorraine Bergeron of Lowell, Mass.; a brother-in-law, Denis Durocher of Montreal, Quebec and a sister-in-law, Rita (Durocher) Caron of Quebec City, Canada.

services: Relatives and friends may call at the Roland W. Martin Funeral Home, 308 Pawtucket St., Lowell, Mass., on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m.

His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, at 11 a.m., in Saint Catherine Parish, 207 Hemlock St., Manchester. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Hospice House, Attn: Development, 7 Executive Park Drive, Merrimack 03054 or the Wounded Warrior Project – 4899 Belfort Road, Ste. 300, Jacksonville, Fla. 32256.
