Richard Dupont Obituary
Richard was pre-deceased by his parents, Germain P. Dupont and Laurette E. Dupont; his wife, Laurie Lane Dupont; infant son, Richard Dupont; and his step-son, Michael Lane.
He is survived by his daughter, Judith Garceau and her husband Tom of Manchester, NH; son, David Dupont and his wife Robin of Weare, NH; four step-children, Roger Robidas, Steven Robidas, Hank Lane and Tammy Tucker; three sisters, Judith Laplante and husband John of Portland, ME, Denise Cunningham and her husband Bill of Gilford, NH, and Suzanne Martin and her husband Paul of Manchester, NH; his brother, Gerald Dupont and his wife Bernadette of Manchester, NH; as well as his beloved grandchildren, Jimmy and Jennifer Freitas, Alexia Robidas, Collin and Kyle Tucker, Nicole and Jeremy Robidas and Mckayla and Jacob Lane.
Richard graduated in 1961 from Manchester High School West. He attended NH College, and served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Coast Guard.
Throughout his lifetime his accomplishments included: Federal Officer with the Federal Reserve Bank; Criminal Justice certificate of achievement from Miami Dade Community College; Appointed to the NH House of Representatives; Former Hillsborough County Commissioner; Member and past President of the NH Jaycees; worked for the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation; volunteer for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; and Florida Keys volunteer EMT.
SERVICES: A Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St. in Manchester. A Memorial Service will immediately follow the gathering at 3:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Richard's name may be sent to the Germain P. and Laurette E. Dupont Family Charitable Fund, c/o The NH Charitable Foundation, 37 Pleasant St., Concord, NH 03301.
