MANCHESTER --Richard "Dick" J. Noyes, 79, died July 31, 2009, at Hackett Hill Healthcare Center.
Mr. Noyes was born in Manchester on May 23, 1930, to Albert and Elizabeth Noyes. He attended local schools and was a lifelong resident of the city.
During the Korean War, Dick served as a Navy Seal with the U.S. Navy.
He worked as a trailer truck driver for Auclair and Associated Grocers of New Hampshire prior to retirement.
He was a life-long member of Bethany Chapel in Goffs Falls.
He enjoyed people and volunteered many hours for the church and never refused anyone who needed help. He loved his family and the sun rose and set on the love of his life, Laura.
The family includes his wife of 54 years, Laura Noyes of Manchester; a son, Guy Noyes of Providence, R.I.; two daughters; Debra Noyes and Robin Carey, both of Manchester; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
IN HIS LIFE: He loved his grandsons, Ricky and Bobby.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours.
The funeral service is at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Bethany Chapel, 54 Newbury Road, Manchester, with the Rev. Dr. Vera Windgate officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
Memorial donations may be made to Bethany Chapel, 54 Newbury Road, Manchester 03103. Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester St., is assisting with arrangements.
