Robert A. Lemieux

MANCHESTER -Robert A. "Shakey" Lemieux, 70, of Manchester, died July 11, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and friends.

He was born in Manchester, Feb. 12, 1942, to Joseph and Rita (Adams) Lemieux.

He was a graduate of Manchester Central High School, class of 1960, and later served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard.

For over 39 years "Shakey" worked as a selector for Associated Grocers. For 34 years he was a member of Local 633 of the Teamsters.

Following his retirement, he served as secretary/treasurer for the retirees for eight years. He was a member of the American Legion Sweeney Post #2.

Shakey was a solid New England sports fan. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He will be remembered as being generous to a fault, having a quick wit, and his kindness to all who came his way. He will be missed.

Family members include his children, Marlene Jenkins, of Manchester, Randy Lemieux, of Deerfield, Christine Cote, of Bedford, David Wilson of Manchester, Charlene French, of Manchester; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his siblings, Edward Lizotte, of Merrimack, Richard Lizotte, of Goffstown, Leo Lizotte, of Londonderry, Pauline Lizotte, of Maryland; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his stepfather Roger Lizotte.

SERVICES: Calling hours at the Lambert Funeral Home and Crematory, 1799 Elm St. will be Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m..

A funeral liturgy, will take place at 2 p.m. in the funeral home.

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
