Robert Peaslee Obituary
Born May 7, 1936 in Providence, R.I., the son of Clarence E. and Vera C. (Anderson) Peaslee, he was raised in Union and was a graduate of Spaulding High School, class of 1955. He resided in Farmington for many years.
A U.S. Army veteran, he served on active duty at the mortuary in Kaiserslauten, Germany from 1960 to 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1966. A graduate of New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in Boston, he was a licensed funeral director and embalmer in New Hampshire, having owned and operated C.E. Peaslee & Son, Inc. Funeral Homes of Farmington, Alton and Sanbornville, with the business now being operated by his family.
For the past 21 years, he and his wife enjoyed winter months at home in Bayonet Point, Fla., with visits by family and friends.
Bob was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, the Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed watching boxing, riding his lawnmower and attending his grandchildren's sports games. Also, he especially loved his late dog "Bear".
Survived by his wife of almost 50 years: Ute M. (Kolb) Peaslee and their four children, Vera Peaslee Haus and husband Jeffrey C. Haus of Dover, Christine E. Peaslee-Radcliffe and husband Kevin M. Radcliffe of Middleton, Robert C. Peaslee and companion Cindy of Sanbornville, Carl E. Peaslee and companion Deborah of Farmington; nine grandchildren, Dylan C. Haus, Kevin C. Radcliffe and Kristina V. Radcliffe, Joshua R. Peaslee, Stephanie, Jaclyn and Lauren Peaslee, Brittani D. (Peaslee) Woodman and Carli E. Peaslee; also a cousin Carl and wife Jane Anderson of Florida.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Peaslee Funeral Home, 24 Central St., Farmington. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at First Congregational Church on Main Street in Farmington, with the Rev. Debra Pratt-Peckham, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow, with military honors, at the Peaslee Family Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Homemakers of Strafford County 215 Rochester Hill Road, Rochester, 03867 or Rochester District VNA, 178 Farmington Road, Rochester, 03867. Since my husband and I do not live in the N.H. area, we were unaware of Bob's passing until we were visiting in Wolfeboro with family. I have known Bob since high school days but more importantly he took care of our families in our times of need. He simply put people at ease and was such a kind person. I am so sorry of his passing but I KNOW that you all have such good memories which will be with you always .

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Peaslee. He was such a wonderful man all the way around. We would only see him on sad occasions at the funeral home, however, he always seemed to lighten our load with kind sincere words. He will be missed tremendously by many. I was so sorry to hear that Bob had passed on. He (and your family) provided services to us when each of my parents passed on and the care you all showed was so much appreciated. I'll never forget his sense of humor, and that twinkle in his eyes. He and my dad would exchange quips and keep everyone laughing (quietly of course). He was a very compassionate man and I know that your family, as well as the communities he served, will miss him.

I am saddened to hear of Bob's passing. Throughout my life, I have always heard such wonderful things about this man, who I know through personal esperience to have been full of life, understanding and compassion for all those who came to him. His comfort and smile was ever present and his gentle ways were such a blessing during difficult times. He would go above and beyond and I will never forget the lengths he went to to take care of my grnadmother's (Harriet Brewer) arrangements. I will be forever grateful to have had the privilege and honor of meeting Bob and having him play an important part in my life through some of my most difficult times. May you all find comfort in your memories and knowing the impact that he has had on so many people. He was loved, admired and respected by all of us.
