SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. - Roger A. Lavoie, 82, died May 19, 2011.
He was born in Manchester, N.H., on March 10, 1929, to Henry and Anna (Boucher) Lavoie.
He joined the Army Air Force in 1946 at age 17.
After his discharge, he worked for the B & M Railroad. After earning his master plumber's license, he owned and operated R.A. Lavoie Plumbing & Heating, opened Lavoie Hardware Store on Main Street, then started R. A. Lavoie Pools in Pembroke, N.H., from which he retired after more than 30 years as owner.
He was a life member and past commander for the John J. Maguire American Legion Post No. 28 and a life member of the Suncook (N.H.) Valley VFW Post No. 2860. He was also a past member of the Knights of Columbus, a volunteer with the Allenstown (N.H.) Fire Department and a former special duty officer with the Allenstown Police Department.
He enjoyed life, his children and grandchildren. He also liked fishing, camping, vacationing, bowling and playing cards.

IN HIS LIFE:His family includes his wife of 62 years, Gloria (Bouffard) Lavoie of Sun City Center; six children, Sue Sargent and her husband, Brian, of Allenstown, N.H., Diane Deslauriers of Seffner, Rick Lavoie and his wife, Iva, of Loudon, N.H., Jackie Pratt and her husband, Dan, of Concord, N.H., Bob Lavoie and his companion, Sarah Bruce, of Milford, N.H., Debbie Pelissier and her husband, Ron, of Allenstown, N.H.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Dot Lavoie of Allenstown, N.H.; brother Donald Lavoie of Allenstown, N.H.; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Ronald Lavoie, in January and a son-in-law, Paul Deslauriers, last November.

SERVICES: Calling hours are Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Hwy. in Epsom, N.H. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown, N.H., followed by burial with military honors in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
