Ronald G. Berlack

FRANCONIA - Ronald Grover Berlack was born on April 21, 1994, in Winchester, Mass., and died in a skiing accident in Soelden, Austria, on Jan. 5, 2015. He was a warm, kind, fun young man, in addition to being a member of the U.S. Ski Team.Ronnie was adopted at birth by Cindy Wright Berlack and Steve Berlack of Franconia. At the age of 2 he went on an 18-month trip skiing and sailing in Europe with his parents, which gave him an athletic start to life.At 5, Ronnie moved from Sudbury, Mass., to Franconia, where he skied in Franconia Ski Club. As a 10-year-old, he moved to Burke Mountain Academy's weekend program for his race training while attending public schools in Franconia until 9th grade.He graduated from Burke Mountain Academy in 2012, then stayed for a post-graduate year. He was named to the U.S. Ski Team development squad in 2013 and again in 2014.Ronnie had many excellent coaches, teachers and role models who fondly remember the wattage he brought to everything he did.Surviving Ronnie are his parents; his sister, Carolyn; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; and his dog, all who loved him dearly.

SERVICES: A celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 3:15 p.m., at the Lyndon Institute Auditorium, Lyndon Center, Vt.Memorial donations may be made in Ronnie's name to:The Friends of Mount Eustis Fund, P.O.
