CONCORD -- Terrence P. Frost, 88, died at Hospice Home, Jan. 25, 2010.

A lifelong Concord resident, he graduated in 1942 from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in zoology, and in 1955 earned his master's degree in zoology from UNH.

He served as president of the New Hampshire Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club and the Chatham Trails Association.

During his retirement he was widely recognized as the trail development and work party leader for the Concord Conservation Commission's 45-mile Concord Trails System. He also played a leadership role in land preservation and trail development projects for the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. In 2005, he received the U.S. Environmental Protection Association Lifetime Achievement Award.

Family members include his wife of 62 years, Marion (Stevenson) Frost; a son, John L. Frost, of Leverett, Mass.; a daughter, Janet Frost (Anderson), of Rockport, Maine; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
