Ted J. Drotleff, 52, lost his short battle with cancer peacefully at home on Oct. 26, 2022, with his mother Carol, daughter Tohru, wife Kate and friends Charlie, Julie and Katie by his side.
Ted attended Shenango Elementary and Shenango High School in New Castle, Pennsylvania, before moving to New Hampshire in 1985. He graduated from Nashua High School in Nashua, New Hampshire in 1988. He has many relatives and friends spread throughout the country.
His generosity and kindness extended beyond family and friends into a much larger community as a Scout leader and a fundraiser. He raised well over $100,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation in 2022 through the 48 Hours of Tristate event of which he was the charity chairman. He also was instrumental in dramatically increasing popcorn sales for the Scouts. These are only several of the charities, fundraisers and organizations he dedicated his time and energy to.
He has received numerous awards for volunteering, most recently the Silver Beaver award which is the highest Scout award given by the Scout council for a volunteer. He was also awarded a proclamation for exceptional volunteer work from the New Hampshire State House. His commitment to mankind went far above any normal boundaries of expectation. He was always ready without hesitation to help anyone anywhere for any reason who was in need. He was multi-talented in many areas, but was a natural with tools in his hands, working on challenging projects in his garage and loving the camaraderie of those beside him.
He will be sadly missed across a wide variety of acquaintances and greatly missed by family and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will take place Sunday, Nov. 13, from 2-6 p.m. at Hampshire Hills Athletic Club in Milford, New Hampshire, in the John Burns bar area. Please come share your story and laughs.
