Thomas North Obituary

Thomas Edward North, 66, passed away on November 7, 2021 after a period of declining health. He was born on October 7, 1955, and was a life-long resident of east Manchester, never far from his childhood home. He graduated from Central High School.

He was the son of Patricia (Mahaney) North Farnham and the late George North and stepson to Russell Farnham.

Tom is survived by his three brothers and one sister: Michael and Patricia North of Manchester, David and Peggy North of Scarborough, Maine, Christopher and Tamara North of Stowe, VT and Nancy and Paul Lapierre of Bedford, NH ; his step-brothers Jeffrey and David Farnham. He was a gracious uncle to Steffan, Megan, Derek, Owen, Emma, James, Matthew, Hugh, and Connor.

Tom was a long-time commuter working in human resources, most recently for Insite Technology and Net Daemon Associates.

Tom loved photography and all things football. He was a skier and runner in his younger years.

He was never without his Dunkin Donuts coffee and he was always anxious to get home to his cat Jazzy.

Tom was a storyteller and was darn proud of his family and his sobriety. He enjoyed his Saturday afternoon meetings at Shaskeen with his oldest brother Mike. His fondest memories were of Thanksgivings in Conway with nieces and nephews at his brother Dave's house.

One of his last outings brought him to tears listening to Christopher Cross at the Tupelo with his best friend Danny O'Donnell.

The family would like to thank Bill Conforti for his generosity and compassion for Tom.

Services: Calling hours are Thursday, November 18, 2021, from 5 to 7 PM at Connor-Healy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 537 Union Street, Manchester, NH.

I am so sorry that these condolences are so late, but I just learned of Tommy's passing a couple of days ago. I only met him a few times but he was a wonderful friend to our daughter, Carla, whom we lost in Sept. 2020. She always had such wonderful things to say about "Tommy" as she called him, and when I met him, I could see why. I liked him right away. He came to Carla's memorial and reached out through FB a couple of times after Carla's passing and we had intended to meet for coffee but time got away and then I didn't hear from him again. I recently tried to find him again on FB and when I couldn't, I did a search and was heartbroken to learn that he was gone. Such a nice man and I will always be grateful for the friendship he offered to our daughter. I remember how Carla took care of his cat, and delivered a couple of things to him during a couple of hospital stays. RIP, Tommy. And I hope you and Carla have renewed your friendship in heaven. I am glad I was able to at least meet you a few times.

My sympathy to the North family on the passing of your brother Tom. As you know, my parents ( Jack & Joanne North) were family and friends to your parents and shared many years of friendship and happy times together at Hampton Beach. I hope that in time you find peace and remember all the good times you shared together with your brother Tom.

Dear Brothers & Sister Nancy,

Let me start by saying how deeply saddened I was to have received the news about Tom from my Dad and to extend to every one of you my deepest sympathy and condolence. I hope you will find this expression of some consolation; that it may assuage your grief at this most difficult time, and make the pain you feel right now less.

A loyal and devoted friend to so many-- Tom was loved by all. Kind and generous, he always had a pleasant disposition and story to share. He had no hubris.

I found in Tom's character that which is best among us. I will cherish his memory and the times we shared together on my many trips home over the years to be with the family.

My sympathy to the North Family

I am truly saddened by the news of Tom’s passing, I worked with him in 1979-83. We were single and in our twenty’s. One summer we played each other’s wing man. At places like 777 & BTC and many others. We did ok and had lots of fun. He allso taught me how to sail on lake masabesic . Just a couple of the best memory’s. . Some of our times together will never be forgotten. He will be in my prayers allways.

Dear Family of Tom,

Please accept my humblest condolences for your loss.

I knew ‘Nordie’ years ago. I’ve missed his kind face since I left NH and have never forgotten him.
