I was so sad to learn from Fred about Tom´s passing. It has been a while since I saw him at an Earlville school reunion but he told me he had taken up photography, like his dad. Growing up in Earlville, Tom and his family were a positive force in my life. We lived two houses apart. Tom was a wonderful friend to my brother Kent (Nash) who had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. In those days, many students with disabilities were home-schooled and Tom would come frequently after his school day to play with Kent. He was a wonderful friend and made such a difference in Kent´s life. I used to babysit the boys and was allowed to play their piano whenever I wanted. They welcomed me into their lives when times were hard and my mother passed away at a young age from cancer.
Rest in peace, Tom, and know you are well-remembered. And thank you for your years of special kindness to Kent.
