Rose Wokanovicz Hojnowski

HOJNOWSKI Rose Wokanovicz Hojnowski, age 85, wife of the late Edward Hojnowski, died Thursday, June 29, 2006 at her home. Born in Southport, she was a lifelong Fairfield resident. During the war years, Mrs. Hojnowski was employed at Harvey Hubbell and G. E. She was a member of St. Anthony's Seniors and St. Anthony's Women's Guild. In her leisure time, she enjoyed various activities with her nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband. Rose is survived by three brothers, Thomas Wokanovicz and his wife, Florence, of Westport, John Wokanovicz and his wife, Cathy, of Fairfield and Joseph Wokanovicz and his wife, Mary Lou, of Fairfield; a sister, Edith Wokanovicz of Fairfield; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews; one great-great niece and one great-great-nephew. She was also predeceased by a brother Edward Wokanovicz; and a nephew, Lt. Edward Wokanovicz. Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday at 10:15 a.m. from the Fairfield Funeral Home of Edmund W. Dougiello, 36 South Pine Creek Road and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fairfield with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield. Friends may call on Saturday morning from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mrs. Hojnowski's memory to St. Anthony's Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield, CT 06824 or to the charity of one's choice.
