William St. Onge Obituary

William "Bill" St. Onge, 62, passed away at his home in Bedford, New Hampshire on November 5, 2021, surrounded by family, after a long and courageous battle with heart disease.

Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He had a special bond with each of his children and stepchildren and was a selfless advocate working tirelessly for the benefit of his special needs son. He was born in November 1958 and grew up in Manchester, NH attending St. Augustine Elementary School, Central High School, and NH Technical School earning an Engineering Technical degree.

He worked for KMC Systems/Elbit Systems of America in Merrimack, NH in manufacturing and operations for 38 years, and was especially proud of the teams he led on multiple projects over the years to build medical instrumentation before his retirement in 2019.

Bill loved to travel with his wife, and together they shared many adventures in Greece, Hawaii, the Caribbean, Italy, France, Costa Rica, Austria, Switzerland, and most recently New Zealand and Australia. He enjoyed their home on Lake Winnipesaukee and loved boating with friends and family. Bill was a true New England sports fan and loved nothing more than cheering on his teams at Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, and Patriots games. He had an infectious, fun-loving personality and easily made friends at all phases of his life. He will be sorely missed by family and friends and the many people he touched along the way.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Lillian.

He is survived by his loving wife, Karen; sons Chris and Matt; stepson Brian Conti (Colleen); stepdaughter Lauren Glenn (Johnnie); sisters Susan Duhaime (Roger), Anita St. Onge, and Gloria Andrews (Jeff); granddaughters Claire and Layla; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude for the wonderful nurses, physicians, and staff who cared for Bill at Mass General Hospital during the last four months. They are truly an amazing team.

Visiting hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, will be held on Thursday, November 11th from 7 to 9 pm. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to the American Heart Association at American Heart Association To be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.

I was so saddened when I heard of Bill´s passing. I have such fond memories of him throughout high school and summers during college. He was one of the funniest guys I knew, always keeping us laughing. If you were with Bill, you were certain to have a good time. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family.

Karen and I met one another over 20 years ago, in the very early days at NxStage when there was just a handful of employees. I loved spending time with Karen & Bill, who always made me feel like I was part of their family. I loved Bill's sense of humor and shared his "tell it like it is" attitude. Bill and Karen were "each other's worlds" and you have been taken much too soon. You will be eternally missed my friend.

My deepest sympathy to Bill's family and friends. We grew up a couple streets from each other, attended elementary to High School, alter boys at St. Augustine, hoops in his backyard on Lake Ave. Just a great friend growing up as a youth and I have very fond memories of "Billy" that will last. My heart breaks for his family and friends. God bless Bill.

So sad to hear of Bill´s passing. I remember the many times I´d hear about Cliff´s latest work disagreement with Bill. But no matter the disagreement or how mad Cliff would be at Bill he´d always end it with "But Bill´s really a good guy". Sorry for the loss of your "good guy" Karen.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Bill. He was a great team leader and an inspiration for all around him. Bill hired me for the Slider project in 2000 as a Med tech. And the next 17 years at KMC/Elbit were the best of my career. Bill was a very real part of it. I wish your family peace in his passing.

I met Billy in 8th grade. We went to different schools. We use to play Basketball together with Ray Amirault, and Roger Larochelle in the Mormon Church near my house. I enjoyed his company as he and Roger were hilarious together. We later went to CHS, They were a year ahead of me. What a nice guy is what I remember most. Later we played on the same softball team together and won the Clem Lemire Championship the year our beloved Danny Leclair died. Billy was at second base, I was at shortstop. We dedicated that year to Dan's memory. I don't think we lost a game that entire season. It was 1981 and the guys on that team were all best friends. Hoss Saint Champ and Tuna were in the infield with Frenchy or Leo on the mound. Town Line Transmissions was our name on the jersey. I never played on a tighter team and I played my entire life. I miss those days. Boy did we know how to make each other laugh and have fun, and Billy was the Best at it. Everyone loved him, as do I. My condolences to all who knew him. To know Billy was to love him. That Plain That Simple.

To Bill's family, my heartfelt condolences. I shared this note (below) with our classmates (Central, 1976), and want to share it with you. We all have friends who we don't see as often as we'd like, but when we do see them, the years just melt away. Bill was that kind of friend. It hurts to think that I won't see Saint again. I'm glad I had a chance to touch base with Bill, and send him this note, after he came home from the hospital, just before we lost him ... I'm going to miss him deeply. ❤
Hey Saint,
I just got word I'm so, so sorry. I should have known to check in before now, when you couldn't make the reunion, but I had no idea things were this serious. My heart is aching for you and your wife.
I'm honestly not sure what to say, my friend, so I'll go with my heart. I absolutely loved spending time with you, Saint. A guy could not have asked for a better friend, or a better group of friends. I loved playing softball together, and then hitting the pubs afterwards to pound a few brewskis and watch bad movies. Or dancing around at a house party. Or maybe it was Hampton Beach, and Club Casino. I remember you and me at the Salty Dog or the Red Onion trying to get dates, and failing more often than not (probably because you insisted on singing "Roxanne by the Police at the top of your lungs).
I can't remember who nicknamed me Crash, but you sure loved to say it! And I loved hearing it!
I think now about how the years have gone flashing by, and we haven't spent nearly enough time together. And I truly regret that. But every time I think of you, brother, I smile. That's your gift, Saint. My memories of you will always bring a smile to my face, and laughter to my heart. You'll always be close.
Rest easy, my friend. Lauri and I will be thinking of you, and praying for you. Love you, Saint ...
Big hugs,
-Brion

Karen and family, I was saddened by the news of Bill's passing. My heartfelt condolences to you all. He truly was a good man. Working with Bill for many years I learned from him and enjoyed his friendship. The day of the Patriots first championship parade we looked at each other and asked do you want to go to Boston? So we did. It was a great day. RIP Bill.

Karen, Chris and Matt,
I am very saddened to hear of Bill's passing.

Bill was one of the most devoted people I have known. If he set out to do anything, he saw it through. He was a great boss who had the respect of everyone.
